OAW Member Code of Conduct
Members of ORD Airport Watch (“OAW”) shall comply with the following.
1. Activity and Events, Etc.
While engaged in any OAW activity or event of any type including airport tours, aircraft spotting, or photography of any type or description including without limitation still photography or videography. OAW members will:
a. acquaint themselves with publicly accessible locations and use only those locations, unless accompanied by airport personnel;
b. wear their OAW issued identification vests, and carry their OAW membership cards;
c. obey all OAW rules, policies, and requirements, and conduct themselves in a friendly, cooperative manner;
d. obey all airport and aviation rules, regulations, directives, signage, and protocols;
e. obey the instructions and requests of (A) law enforcement or airport personnel including for identification, and (B) organizers of OAW events or activities;
f. promptly report to OAW’s President or the organizer of their OAW event or activity any adversarial confrontations or incidents with law enforcement or airport personnel;
g. not have in their possession any weapons including firearms;
h. not take any action detrimental to aviation safety or flight operations, or fly any drone, balloon, or other aerial vehicle;
i. promptly report any suspicious activity they observe to airport personnel or law enforcement, but not enforce compliance by others with airport or aviation rules, regulations, directives, signage, or protocols;
j. not bar access by any persons to publicly accessible locations; or
k. not give, sell, or loan their OAW member vest to others, or allow others to use their OAW member vest for any purpose.
2. Membership Termination
OAW members whose membership terminates for any reason will:
a. return all their membership credentials to OAW including their OAW membership card;
b. delete any electronic or other copies of their OAW membership credentials;
c. no longer wear their OAW vest including without limitation for aircraft spotting or photography, give, sell, or loan their OAW vest to others, or allow others to use OAW their vest for any purpose; and
d. if requested by OAW, certify in writing to OAW that they have complied with these requirements.
3. No Disparagement
OAW members will not disparage OAW, other OAW members, or OAW activities at OAW meetings or events, in any social media, or otherwise.
4. OAW Policies
OAW members will abide by OAW policies including with limitation policies regarding social media.
